Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a pinch point hazard while climbing on the compartments or buckets of the Labrie Top Select 1000 recycling trucks to enter the body to make more room for recycling material, on or about 6-22-01. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS": To prevent employees from entering danger area, revise your Employee Safe Driving and Safe Work Practices book and company's Zero Tolerance Unsafe Work/Driving Activities, to include this unsafe practice as required by ANSI Z245.1-1999 section 9.2.1. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED PER 29 CFR 1903.19D
