Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On the telecommunication tower under construction at Gaither Mountain on Orchard Point Road in Harrison, Arkansas, employees were hoisted to heights up to 140 feet to gain access to their elevated work station on the tower while being attached to the headache ball load line, exposing employees to the hazard of falls from elevations. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to implement the use of manlifts, or similar, to elevate employees to heights up to 200 feet.ts
