40.1-51.1.(a)-Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Spray Booth - The pump that was used to supply flammable paint to the spray application process was not provided with a means to automatically shut off the supply of paint liquid in case of a fire or operation of the extinguishing system as noted during an inspection on 12/20/00. "One feasible means of abatement is to install a device that would comply with the requirements of NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION PUBLICATION NFPA 33 Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials 1995 Section 6-4.5 and NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION PUBLICATION NFPA 17 Dry Chemical Extinguishing Systems Section 3-5.2."
