Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards associated with the collapse of an inadequately supported wall that was being constructed. job site: On or about May 1, 2000, employees were building a 12 foot high plastic wall system for a new car wash, when the wall being built fell over the scaffolding the workers were standing on, causing both workers to fall to the ground and receive serious injuries. One feasible means of abatement is to brace and anchor the wall system on both sides of the wall.
