Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: (a)Hazard of not receiving prompt medical attention at the Allen well, off Terry Creek Road, Magnolia, MS where on March 30, 2000, there was no telephone, radio, or transporation provided at the well servicing site. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to post at the site telephone numbers, location, and other relative information pertaining to availability of medical personnel, transporation, and medical facilities, and make provisions for prompt medical attention in case of serious injury prior to commencement of work in an area, such as specified in Section 3, Sub-Section 3.2, Paragraphs 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 of American Petroleum Institute (API) RP54-1981.
