Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 : The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by unstable and improperly secured loads: a)Loading Dock at Northeast Container Corp.: While unloading a trailer truck paper rolls, that were not securely wedged, became loose. The load shifted and struck an employee, on or about 10/27/97. Abatement note: One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to ensure that the paper rolls are properly and securely wedged.y
