Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: an employee was not required to remain in a position that was visible to the truck driver's sight or in his mirrors when backing and the driver was not required to stop the truck and wait when backing and visual contact with the employee behind the truck is not established. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is: train the employees in the proper safe backing operation of truck and trailers and to stop vehicle movement when visual contact with employees behind the truck is not established. CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED
