SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that employees operating a Cranemann overhead crane #131 using an Electromotive radio remote crane control, FCC-10: KY8-SM2-458, were exposed to the hazard of being struck by material being hoisted overhead by failing to remove the Electromotive remote crane control from service following maintenance performed on radio remote by unqualified personnel which was against manufacturers specifications and which voided the manufacturers warranty. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard, among other methods, is to send radio remotes that need repair or alterations back to the manufacturer or have maintenance personnel trained by Electromotive Systems to perform repairs or alterations on the radio remote crane controls.ns
