Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: crushing injuries when being positioned between the control panel of the Interoc crawler drill and the concrete plinth wall at the Penn Forest Dam site, on or about March 26, 1998. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is: 1. Follow manufacturer's recommendations regarding minimum safe distances. 2. Train employees in the recognition of hazards and safe work practices. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
