Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards. Employees that operated the Clark forklift, with an overhead guard, did not use/wear the installed seat belts: a.Outside Storage, Material Handling Yard--- Employees operating the Clark forklift, serial number Y685-844-4845, equipped with an overhead guard and seat belts, did not wear the installed seat belts when operating the forklift. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard would be to have the operators wear the seat belts. (Specific abatement documentation is required.)ion
