Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulatios applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a) Brokers Contracting, Inc., 3920 Tennyson Street, Denver, CO: On or about April 21st, 2011, the employer did not ensure its employee was instructed in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions prior to moving a pre-fabricated shed weighting approximately 1200 pounds. The employer did not adequately instruct his employee in the identification, control, and stabilization methods regarding the placement of 1 inch metal bars under the shed to roll it away from an existing building. As a result, the shed tipped over and fell from the 9 inch concrete slab resulting in fatal injuries to the employee.
