29 CFR 1926.1000(b): Rollover protective structures on material handling equipment manufactured on or after September 1, 1972, did not meet the minimum performance standards prescribed in 1926.1001 and 1926.1002, as applicable:(a)(LOCATION)(IDENTIFY EQUIPMENT)(INDICATE SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE STANDARDS NOT MET REFERENCING THE PARTICULAR SUBSECTIONS(S) OF 1926.1001 OR 1002): On or about February 28, 2012, an employee was preparing to compact the dirt ramp for hard surfacing with the roller compactor machine that was not equipped with roll over protection (ROPS), exposing the employee to the hazard of being struck by and/or crushed by the roller compactor machine. Among other methods of abatement feasible and useful to correct this hazard, one method of abatement would be to install roll over protection on all roller compactor machines.
