29 CFR 1910.1024(i)(4)(i): Where the employer allowed employees to consume food or beverages at a worksite where beryllium was present, the employer did not ensure that surfaces in eating and drinking areas were as free as practicable of beryllium: a. Break/Lunch area - On or about February 19, 2025, the employer permitted employees to consume food and beverages, and surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of beryllium. Wipe samples found detectable levels of beryllium on a circular table top and inner surface of a refrigerator door handle. b. Finishing area - On or about February 5, 2025, the employer permitted employees to consume beverages, and surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of beryllium. Surfaces including the floor and air hoses/couplings around the work stations were contaminated with visible beryllium dust.
