Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Employees working on the Sutway Eagle line track at well number 7, were exposed to various crushing and pinching hazards associated with maintenance, operating, and repair of oil well pump jacks. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard among other available methods is the design and implementation of safe operating and maintenance procedures, and the training of employees of the hazards associated with the maintenance and/or repair of oil field equipment.
