29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times. Cashier Cage: On and/or before April 19, 2023, employee(s) conducted clerical, customer service, and cash counting. Multiple ceiling tiles throughout the cash cage had holes and/or were improperly installed. This condition would delay the activation of the sprinkler system(s) preventing a proper barrier and restricting the movement of smoke in accordance with NFPA 101 8.5.1. Employee(s) were exposed to fire and smoke hazard(s).
