Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 008 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A):Flexible cords and cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: a) East end of the Machine Shop Work Area: A 100 foot, 120 volt electrical (black in color) flexible cord was attached to a metal-cased duplex receptacle outlet. This outlet box was loosely affixed to the masonry wall with one screw where it proved power to an extension cord used to power a battery charger. b) Center of the Carpentry Shop: A 100 foot, 120 volt electrical (yellow in color) flexible cord was plugged into Quad Box on the east wall and ran on top of the floor over to the work table in the center of the room. It then was connected to a row of three (3) duplex receptacle outlets which ran the length of the table on the west side, to provide power for tools and other equipment.
