Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) 3370 Drennan Industrial Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80910 (Colorado Ready Mix Plant): On or about March 3, 2022, and at times prior, employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals which can cause eye damage. Zep Blast Away is classified as a Category 1 Corrosive (in reference to Table A.3.2 from 29 CFR 1910.1200 Appendix A). The nearest eye wash station was located in the opposite corner, more than 50 feet away. b) 3370 Drennan Industrial Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80910 (Colorado Ready Mix Plant): On or about March 3, 2022, and at times prior, employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals which can cause eye damage in that, the employer failed to maintain the existing eye wash station by conducting adequate inspections of the eye wash station on site. The last inspection date of the eyewash station was in October 2022.
