29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Pete Lien & Sons (3370 Drennan Industrial Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80910): On or about March 3, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to crush hazards and nip points due to a lack of guarding on the pneumatic press in the truck mechanic shop. The employer failed to ensure proper guarding was in place to ensure employees were not exposed to moving parts or crush hazards.
