Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): An educational program was not provided for all employees to familiarize them with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage firefighting: (a) Green Waste Area - On or about February 1, 2023, the employer did not effectively train employees on portable fire extinguisher use thereby exposing employees to fire and related hazards. An employee was injured while using portable extinguishers to put out fires that resulted from an explosion. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
