29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: On or about January 11, 2023, and thereafter, employees engaged in sawmill activities at the worksite located at 33643 MO-6 Brashear, Missouri 63533 were exposed to electrical shock and burn hazards in that the employer did not ensure that cords and cables were connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. Instances of exposure include but are not limited to: Instance 1: A green extension cord was observed to have damage associated with inadequate strain relief, which was being used to power lighting in the worksite. Instance 2: An orange extension cord was observed to have damage associated with inadequate strain relief, which was being used to power lighting in the worksite. Instance 3: A flexible electrical extension cord was observed in the Grade Mill building to have damage associated with inadequate strain relief, which was being used to power a chop saw.
