29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: (a) On or about 11/30/2022, Summit Valet Parking LLC did not protect its employees from hazards associated with slips and falls due to icy conditions, in that, the employer did not assess the workplace to determine that slips and falls could occur due to winter weather conditions, and therefore provide traction PPE for its employees. This resulted in an employee's death due to injuries sustained from a slip and fall on snow- and ice-covered asphalt.
