Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to explosion hazards: (a)AMTEC Corporation DBA Tech Ord at 47600 180th Street in Clear Lake, SD 57226: On or about and at times prior to October 10, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees manually handled and transported dry primary explosives from the dry houses to building 121 in a manner that materially reduced employee exposure to explosion hazards. On October 10, 2022, an employee suffered fatal injuries after dry primary explosives being transported in ammunition cans exploded. This condition exposed employees to explosion hazards.
