29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): Energy control program. The employer shall establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. a) Signature Cabinetry located at 1285 Alum Creek Drive, COLUMBUS, OH 43209: On and preceding August 23, 2022, the employer did not establish an energy control program which established energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections when employees were engaged in tooling changes on machinery which included but was not limited to a GMM CNC Stone Saw. Employees perform material exchanges, periodic maintenance, cleaning and blade changes on a GMM Extra CNC stone saw. A hazardous energy control program was not developed and implemented to prevent unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy thereby exposing employees to caught-in and struck-by hazards.
