Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: a) Stairwell - On or About 07/28/2023, An employee setup a 6-foot step ladder on top of a clothing dresser, to reach a skylight because the ladder was to short to reach the water damaged area, that slipped off the dresser causing the employee to fall into a stairwell. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
