29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by ingoing nip points. (a) In the single line maintenance shop, on or about August 15th, 2022 a JET Model JDP-20MF drill press was not equipped with a shaft/chuck/bit guard, exposing employees to laceration, pinching, burning and caught in hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. (b) Behind Tank #2, on or about August 16th, 2022 and times prior thereto, employees were exposed to hazards of rotating parts at an opening in the left screw pulley/belt guard. (c) In the Tank 2 basement, on or about August 16th, 2022 and times prior thereto employees were exposed to hazards of rotating parts at an unguarded opening in the drag system pulley chain (d) In the machine repair shop, on or about August 15th, 2022 a Buffalo No. 15 drill press was not equipped with a shaft/chuck/bit guard, exposing employees to laceration, pinching, burning and caught in hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. (e) In the machine repair shop, on or about August 15th, 2022 a JET 20" drill press was not equipped with a shaft/chuck/bit guard, exposing employees to laceration, pinching, burning and caught in hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. (f) In the machine repair shop, on or about August 15th, 2022, a Walker-Turner metal cutting band saw was not equipped with an adjustable blade guard, exposing employees to laceration and amputation hazards
