29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(4)(iii)(A)(1)(i): Contaminated sharps were not discarded immediately or as soon as feasible in containers that were closable: (a) Location - ECT & Ketamine Clinic On or about, July 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure that engineering controls were functioning as designed by the manufacturer as to lower exposure to sharps or other contaminated items. 1) BD Sharps Collector was opened position and held open by tape in procedure room #1. 2) BD Sharps Collector was opened position and held open by tape in procedure room #2. 3) Two BD Sharps Collectors were opened position and held open by tape in the recovery area (hallway).
