Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from fall hazards during tree trimming operations: a) Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC, 24 Rustic Terrace, Breckenridge, CO 80424: On or about 6/3/2022, the employer did not protect employees from fall hazards while conducting tree trimming operations. An employee tied his secondary protection around a leader branch. When the employee disconnected his main climbing line from the trunk to adjust it, his weight was transferred to the secondary means of protection and the leader branch broke. The employee fell approximately 22 feet to the ground. This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards and falls hazards from more than 20 feet.
