29 CFR 1910.263(c)(3): Sprocket(s) and V-belt drive(s) of bakery machinery located within reach from platform(s) or passageway(s) or located within 8 feet 6 inches from the floor were not completely enclosed. a) Jobsite: 421 Boot Rd, Downingtown, PA - On or about February 6, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the approximately 16" exposed sprocket located by the carousel mechanism in the second stage icing machine of the Layer Cake line was enclosed exposing the employees removing defective cakes from the carousel trays to amputation hazards. An employee came into contact with the exposed sprocket and suffered a finger amputation.
