29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) PRODUCTION AREA, HEIDELBERG WEBB 8 PRINTING PRESS - Employees operated the Heidelberg Webb 8 Press, and the employees were exposed to in-running nip points at the press rollers on the backside of the four printing units. The barriers that are installed were able to be lifted out of place while the press was at full operational speed, which permitted an employee to reach into the hazard area between the rollers, on or about February 10, 2021. (b) PRODUCTION AREA, HEIDELBERG WEBB 8 PRINTING PRESS - Employees operated the Heidelberg Webb 8 Press, and the employees were exposed to in-running nip points at the press rollers on the backside bottom of the printing units. There were no barriers installed , which permitted an employee to reach into the hazard area of the rollers between the water roller and the water tray, on or about February 10, 2021. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
