29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees hands were exposed to hazardous condition(s): a) Quarter Inch Drilling Area: Employees were exposed to 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) when contacting uncured polyurethane on hot tub shells, and the employer did not require these employees to wear gloves on their unprotected skin, on or about January 12, 2021. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED The employer, Strong Industries, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1435502, citation number 01, item number 01c, and was affirmed as a final order on April 1, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 3204 Point Township Drive, Northumberland, PA 17857.
