Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Employees on scaffolds more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level by fall protection established in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)-(vii) of this section: A.) Larry Bittner dba Bittner Roofing, 3603 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508, on or about June 17, 2020 and times prior thereto: Employees were utilizing roof jack scaffolds during roofing activities. The roof jack scaffolds were installed a top a roof with a ground-to-eave height of 10.4-feet. Employees were not utilizing fall protection. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation. This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. IN ADDITION, abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic, or video evidence or abatement or other written records.
