29 CFR 1910.178(a)(4): Modifications and additions which affect capacity and safe operation of powered industrial truck were performed by the employer without the manufacturer's prior written approval: a) Facility; on August 20, 2019 and times prior the employer allowed employees to operate the Hyster forklift with a iron weight in excess of a 1,000 pounds placed on the rear of the forklift to counter balance loads above the manufacturer's load limit. The rolls of rubber/belts can range from 18,000 to 22,000 pounds. The limit of the Hyster lift is 14,000 pounds.
