Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about 19 August 2019, at the job site located at 38 Gilbert Ave. Clarendon Hills Il, 60514, the employer failed to protect the employees from a fall hazard when they were working above 6 feet. The employees were exposed to a 12 feet 5 inch fall hazard without having any sort of fall protection devices, railings or systems in place. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
