29 CFR 1915.116(f): Slings were not padded by means of wood blocks or other suitable material where they passed over sharp edges or corners of loads. a) USNS 1st Lt. Jack Lummus: All 12 lifeboat davits on the ship were held in the "stowed" position with wire cables. On each davit the wire cables were wrapped around the sharp edges of the davit frame and they were not protected from damage. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
