29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards. The gray saw in the maintenance area was not adequately guarded. Under the table, the saw blade was not guarded on the north side. b) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards. The New England Butt Company Braiding Machine BR5 was not guarded on the left and right sides facing the machine and across the top from the rotating spools. c) Employees were exposed to amputation hazards. The New England Butt Company Braiding Machine BR4 was not guarded across that top of the machine from the rotating spools.
