Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(b): Anchoring fixed machinery. Machines designed for a fixed location shall be securely anchored to prevent walking or moving. The employer is failing to ensure that employees are protected from struck-by and caught-in hazards when operating a food product mixer by not securely installing it to a suitable flat level surface in order to prevent moving. Excessive force when operating the mixer could affect the stability of the bowl. This event was most recently documented at the jobsite located at 514 S. 11th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68102 on January 24, 2019. Personnel operated a food product mixer without having its base anchored or bolted to the floor as required by the standard and in the operator's manual.
