Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2)(ii): The employer did not provide information to the employees on operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals were present: a) Element Services, LLC at Khaki Campbell East, Hwy 14 and WCR 85, Briggsdale, CO 80611: On and before October 27, 2018, the employer did not provide information to the employees on operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals were present. The employer moved two 500 barrel tanks containing hydrocarbons onto the site for use in a new tank battery. Employees were involved with setting up and connecting pipes to the tanks, and replacing gaskets on lower access panels. The employer did not ensure that the employees setting up this tank battery were informed of the hazards associated with residual hydrocarbons in the tanks. This condition exposed employees to atmospheric, fire, and explosion hazards. Abatement note: 29 CFR 1926.59 provides that the requirements applicable to construction work are identical to those set forth at 1910.1200 of this chapter.
