29 CFR 1926.502(e)(2): Positioning devices were not secured to an anchorage capable of supporting at least twice the potential impact load of an employee's fall or 3,000 pounds (13.3 kN), whichever was greater: a) On or about October 2, 2018 at 1527 Malone St, Auburn, Al: The employer failed to ensure employees installing shingles on a residential roof with pitch of 8:12 and 12:12 were properly protected in that the employer stated he was using climbing belts and ropes as fall prevention methods. Employees used climbing belts with rope that was either run through the roof vent and doubled looped and tied in a knot or double looped through an anchor and tied with a knot as their anchor, which is not an approved anchor system capable of supporting at least twice the potential impact load or 3,000 pounds exposing them to potential falls of 14 feet 7 inches or 19 feet 6 inches depending on their location.
