29 CFR 1926.502(d)(6): Unless the snaphook is a locking type and designed for the following connections, snaphooks shall not be engaged; 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(6)(i): directly to webbing, rope or wire rope: a. On or about August 8, 2018, located on the 1st floor in Building C, an employee was welding a section of pipe within ceiling I-beams with a Miller Turbo Lite retractable that had its snaphook tied back onto its webbed strap. The employee was exposed to a maximum fall hazard of approximately 15 feet if the snaphook would become disengaged from the strap during a fall arrest condition.
