Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(a)(2): Where exposed live parts were not deenergized, other safety related work practices were not used to protect employees who could be exposed to the electrical hazards involved: On or about May 22, 2018 an employee was working near a live 480 Volt electrical gear switch/ bus bar and the employee received 2nd degree burns on his hand due to an arc flash. The employer did not use safe work practices to de-energize the power and did not demonstrate that doing so would of caused increased or additional hazards or would have been infeasible. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
