29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) At Burn Table, New Steel Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Burn Table Machine which has multiple energy sources such as electrical, air and gas without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. b) At Horizontal Band Saw, New Steel Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Horizontal Band Saw Machine which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. c) At Vertical Band Saw, New Steel Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Vertical Band Saw Machine which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. d) At Horizontal Band Saw Conveyor, New Steel Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Horizontal Band Saw Conveyor which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. e) At Shear Line Conveyor, Rebar / Fab Shop (South Side : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Shear Line which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. f) At Shear Line Conveyor, Rebar / Fab Shop North Side: On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Shear Line which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. g) At Alligator Shear (Copper), Metal Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Alligator Shear Machine which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. h) At Alligator Shear (Wire), Metal Shop : On or about May 9, 2018 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to potential hazardous energies in that employees were allowed to work on the Alligator Shear Machine which has multiple energy sources such as electrical and hydraulic without those employees having a written machine specific lock out procedure to ensure that those energy sources were controlled while the employees were performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. THE SABEL STEEL, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.147(C)(4)(I) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1007083, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 2, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON JUNE 10, 2015 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 2811 DAY STREET, MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA.
