Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(f)(6): Scaffolds were erected, used, dismantled, altered, or moved such that they, or any conductive material handled on them, could have come closer than the minimum distances established for specific voltages as set forth in the table in subparagraph (f)(6). On or about April 19, 2018, in front of the Hampton Inn located at 2730 N. Causeway Blvd., New Orleans, LA; employees erecting metal tubular scaffolding were not protected from the scaffold and/or scaffold parts making contact with overhead live electrical powerlines. The scaffold became energized when a metal pole being handled by an employee made contact with the powerline creating electrical shock hazards.
