29 CFR 1910.147(f)(3)(i): When servicing and/or maintenance is performed by a crew, craft, department or other group, they shall utilize a procedure which affords the employees a level of protection equivalent to that provided by the implementation of a personal lockout or tagout device. Northwest, tray/slice room, Marchant Schmidt, Inc. tray line conveyors and ultrasonic cutters - employees assigned to perform servicing and maintenance activities on energized equipment were not provided with group lockout procedures to ensure individual employee's safety. Employees engaged in activities such as, but not limited to, cleaning and sanitation tasks were exposed to machine hazards likely to result in serious injuries due to in-going nip points and shear points. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
