Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire hazards: (a) On or about January 5, 2018 for employees who attempted to warm the hydraulic system of a filter press with a diesel powered heater where the hydraulic fluid ignited causing serious burns to an employee at or near 15495 Highway 2 West in Williston, North Dakota. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to follow the Master Heater User Manual and keep all combustible materials away from this heater, and NEVER use this heater where flammable vapors may be present.
