Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets: a) SK Construction Inc. at 3060 West 29th Avenue Boulder, CO 80301: On or before December 12, 2017, the employer did not provide information and training to employees on the chemicals used at this worksite and on safety data sheets. Employees use chemicals such as caulking and paint on a daily basis. This condition exposes employees to chemical irritations to eyes, respiratory, and skin due to employee lack of knowledge regarding chemical hazards. Abatement note: The requirements applicable to construction work under 29 CFR 1926.59 are identical to those set forth at 1910.1200 of this chapter.
