Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.138(a): General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. The employer did not require the use of hand protection to protect from pinch point hazards when working on a Kenco KL900 Barrier Lift in that on August 30, 2017 an employee received an amputation to the tip of the left hand middle finger.
