Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees, and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls were acquired by employees: (a) Parallel Products of Colorado, LLC at 123 9th Ave., Greeley, CO 80631: On and before August 18, 2017, the employer did not ensure that training was provided to ensure the function and purpose of energy control procedures was understood and properly applied by employees. The employer did not ensure that energy control training resulted recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. In addition, the energy control training did not ensure that employees understood that adjacent machinery also needed to be de-energized when employees were working in close proximity. This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards. Abatement note: 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(iv) provides that the employer shall certify that employee training has been accomplished and is being kept up to date.
