Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPOPPROC
North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) building at 2000 Spartanburg Highway -- the employer permitted an employee to use gasoline to saturate sponge- like material glued to a concrete floor and to use a metal scraper to remove the material from the floor. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to use water instead of gasoline to saturate the material glued to the floor.
