29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Authorized employee(s) did not receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control: a) Planer Mill; On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to the caught-in and struck-by hazards due the hazardous energies on the equipment located throughout the Planer Mill (including but not limited to the Stacker, Strapper, and Planer infeed) where employees are required to clear jams and clean, in that the employer failed to provide these employees with the level of training required to control and isolate the hazardous energies on equipment. b) Sawmill; On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to the caught-in and struck-by hazards due the hazardous energies on the equipment located throughout the Sawmill (including but not limited to the Log deck/Bucksaw, Sorter, Trimsaw, and Unscrambler/Stacker) where employees are required to clear jams and clean, in that the employer failed to provide these employees with the level of training required to control and isolate the hazardous energies on equipment. Dudley Lumber Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 934646, citation number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on March 4, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 8575 Hwy 280 East, Salem, AL 36874.
