Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: a) Boiler Plant Motor Control Center - An electrician was working inside an electrical cabinet trying to remove a cable from the neutral bar and came into contact with an energized buss where an arc flash occurred, on or about 05/18/2017. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
